The Cuber reservoir is a man-made lake located at the bottom of a wide valley in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. The reservoir is surrounded by the highest mountains on the island, notably the Puig Major with 1,445 meters.
The mountains are home of many raptor species. Osprey can sometimes be seen fishing in the lake, as well as Great crested grebe and Cormorant in winter. Other species of great interest are the Blue-rock thrush, Crag martin, Northern wheatear and the rare Moltoni’s warbler.
