In the middle of the island, extensive cereal fields form a mosaic with woodland and Mediterranean garrigue. This rural landscape, very different from the rest of the sites, is home to a variety of birds of great interest; Stone-curlew, Thekla’s lark, Red-legged partridge and Corn bunting are present all year round.
And in spring, swarms of insects attract Red-footed falcons and Lesser kestrels that can be seen hunting together with Common kestrels and Common swifts.
